Continuing a tradition that dates back a dozen years, McAdam Landscaping will be among the myriad organizations from throughout the community that has a booth at A Day in Our Village on Sunday, June 4th.

Held on the first Sunday every June, the event at Scoville Park marks the 44th installment of the annual festival that highlight’s Oak Park’s wide-ranging array of organizations and offerings.

As in years past, McAdam will have a booth from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that greets visitors at Scoville Park, situated on the northwest corner of Lake Street and Oak Park Avenue. Experts like Staff Horticulturist Scott McAdam Jr. and company President Scott McAdam will be on hand to answer questions during portions of the day. In addition, people will receive a basil or tomato plant.

“This is a great opportunity for people looking to grow something on their own,” said McAdam Jr. “We look forward to expanding the roots we have been establishing in the community.”

McAdam Landscaping headquarters, as well as its Nursery & Garden Center, are located at 2001 Des Plaines Ave. in Forest Park.

McAdam is among more than 100 civic, cultural, social service, business, educational and religious organizations that will be represented in the event.

Founded in 1979 by River Forest natives Scott and Rob McAdam, McAdam Landscaping is a full-service contractor for residential, commercial and municipal clients. With the creation of the Nursery & Garden Center in 2003, McAdam moved beyond maintenance and design/installation and into other specialties such as landscape lighting and water features.

In addition to the activities at Scoville Park, Rehm Park, and Pool, at Garfield Street and East Avenue, will also offer a wide array of activities from 1 to 6 p.m. To learn more about A Day in Our Village, visit
